About our concrete contractor business in Tuscaloosa
We pour driveways, patios, slabs and foundations for homeowners in Tuscaloosa, Northport, McCalla and the cities around them. Every job starts with the ground under the concrete, and a plain answer about what to expect.

Built on the part nobody sees
I wanted to run a crew that gets the ground under the slab right and tells people plainly what their concrete will and won't do.
I taught myself the basics of concrete, learned the rest on job sites around Tuscaloosa and started Masterwork Tuscaloosa Concrete in 2013. We work in Tuscaloosa, Northport, McCalla and the cities around them, mostly for homeowners. Flatwork, our word for driveways, patios and slabs, is what we're known for, and we put our time into the ground underneath, because nobody sees it once we pour.
I come out to every job myself and work alongside our crew on pour day, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the work. You'll hear what concrete can and can't do, hairline cracks included, before you sign anything. Tell us about your job on the contact page.
What we care about on every job
The ground first
We dig out the soft dirt and pack a solid base before any concrete shows up, because that's the part you can't fix later without tearing it all out.
Straight answers
Concrete cracks, and it's the one thing it does without being asked. Before you sign, we tell you where hairline cracks may show and how the grooves we cut help steer them.
Estimates you can compare
Our written estimates spell out what's included, so you can set them next to anyone else's and see what each price actually buys.
Concrete work we take on
Most calls come from homeowners, some from builders and small business owners, so the work runs from a front walk to a parking lot.
- Service
Concrete driveway building
A new driveway, or a replacement when the old one has cracked, sunk or started holding water, poured over a base we dig out and pack first.
- Service
Concrete patio construction
When you want a place out back for a table and a grill, we build the patio sloped away from the house so rain runs toward the yard.
- Service
Stamped concrete services
Concrete pressed with a pattern while it's still wet, so a patio, walk or pool deck can look like stone or brick without the loose pieces.
- Service
Concrete sidewalk building
Walks from the driveway to the door, or out to the street, for when the old one has heaved, cracked into a trip hazard or never existed.
- Service
Garage floor concrete
If your garage floor is cracked, sunken or pitted, we tear it out and pour a new slab built to carry cars and whatever else ends up there.
- Service
Decorative concrete
Color, stains and finishes that go past plain gray. It's for the spots people actually look at, like an entry, a patio or a front walk.
- Service
Concrete retaining walls
When a slope keeps sliding into your yard or driveway, a concrete retaining wall holds the dirt back. We build it with steel inside and drainage behind.
- Service
Concrete floor installation
Interior concrete floors for shops, basements, additions and outbuildings, poured level over a packed base and finished smooth or left ready for whatever floor goes on top.
- Service
Concrete pool decks
The concrete around a pool, finished with texture for wet feet and sloped so splash water drains away from the pool and the house.
- Service
Concrete steps construction
New front or back steps when the old ones have cracked, settled or pulled away from the house. We form them so each step is the same height.
- Service
Slab foundation building
A slab foundation is the concrete a house, garage or shop sits right on, with thicker edges and steel inside. The ground work matters most here.
- Service
Foundation installation
Foundations for new homes, additions and outbuildings, built from your plans. We check with the permit office for your address and pull the permits our part needs.
- Service
Concrete parking lot building
For small businesses, churches and shops that need a lot that drains and holds up under daily traffic, we pour concrete parking areas over a packed base.
- Service
Concrete footings
Footings are the concrete strips under walls, porches, decks and additions that spread the weight into firm ground. You need them before anything heavy goes up.
- Service
Foundation raising
When a slab or foundation has sunk and doors stick or cracks run up the walls, we lift it back toward level from underneath.
- Service
Concrete cutting
Clean saw cuts through slabs and walls for a new doorway, a plumbing trench or a section that has to come out without breaking up the rest.
